I am a seasoned athlete that enjoys the fact that I can still do what I love: RUN.  I am first and foremost a husband and father.  Secondly, I am a runner.  I like to run to train, run to race and more importantly, run to enjoy myself.  I run in the Chicago area, primarily in the south suburbs.  I like good food, hot coffee and an occasional beer (post run carbs, of course).  The music I listen to is blues based classic rock & roll.  I am an ex-rugby player, and I sell surgical devices during the day.  My wife is a techie, so she will be helping me with this blog.  My son is in high school and runs cross country and track – I will do my best to not embarrass him here!   I don’t run with groups much, so I have had A LOT of time to think about the running I do.  I do run with my wife and son, although my son is pretty much on his own because dad is too slow now (that will be a subject of one of my first posts!).

I am new to writing but I feel I have a lot to say.  Come with me as I embark on this journey to document, transcribe and record my past, present and future experiences in the running world.  I hope to educate and entertain on my way to understanding what it is means to be an Antiquated Runner.

The harder you work, the harder it is to surrender.
